Integrated Social & Institutional Development for Empowerment (InSIDE-North East) is a youth-led nonprofit born out of conflict, driven by compassion to rebuild lives through peace, education, and empowerment. Initially beginning with music and community engagement, the organization has evolved to address key issues such as women’s empowerment, child rights, health, and the environment. Through its flagship program Gun2Pen, InSIDE promotes life skills, education, gender equality, livelihood support, and civic responsibility. The organization conducts awareness drives, vocational and career training, organic farming, and peace-building workshops to nurture confident, self-reliant youth. The words from former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, "Mr. Misao, I can well understand how challenging it is to work in the environment of Manipur. Yet, never underestimate the value of your efforts. Every action, whether big or small, contributes to the larger task of nation-building", continue to echo in my mind, serving as a constant source of inspiration and motivation, Hejang Misao recalled. Recognized by Rashtrapati Bhavan and local authorities, InSIDE-North East continues to inspire inclusive growth and harmony across communities in Northeast India.
