Deep Jyoti Sonu Brahma is committed to advancing sustainable agricultural entrepreneurship as a viable livelihood for youth. With over twenty-five years of experience, he has consistently engaged with young individuals from minority and vulnerable communities, empowering them to access meaningful opportunities. He serves on advisory governance teams for several organizations, including Vartaleap, CatalystNow, and other notable social enterprises throughout Northeast India. Deep Jyoti has co-led both the Assam State Collective and the North East Collective of social entrepreneurs, fostering collaborative initiatives across the region. He played a pivotal role in founding Youth for Agroecology, a coalition uniting emerging leaders in agroecology from South Asia. He mentors Youth for Ecological Sustainability, a national network promoting ecological responsibility and action among youth.

Pauzagin Tonsing

Pauzagin Tonsing is a social entrepreneur and disability inclusion leader with over 15 years of experience advancing inclusive education, rehabilitation, and community-based support systems for persons with disabilities in Northeast India. Driven by lived experience as a parent of a child with visual impairment, he founded the Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) to address critical gaps in infrastructure, services, and community awareness. His work is recognized for building community-led, scalable models that promote dignity, independence, and long-term inclusion. Key Contributions are: Founder, Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) • Founder, The Malsawm Initiative (first special school in the district) • Founder, Churachandpur District Disabled Union (CDDU) • Initiator of Unau Sibling Support Initiative (nationally unique model) • Established Unau (Sibling) Day – June 26 to promote shared caregiving responsibility

Kim Maria Misao is a seasoned development professional with over 20 years of experience across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Kim has led and designed programs focused on livelihoods, community health, human trafficking, bonded labour, women’s empowerment, and adolescent mental health. She has experience in strategic fundraising, program design, and strategic partnerships.

Gautam Mukhopadhaya

Gautam Mukhopadhaya

Gautam Mukhopadhaya served the Indian Foreign Service from 1980-2016 representing India at the Permanent Mission of India in the United Nations, New York (1996-99), and as Ambassador of India to Syria (2006-9), Afghanistan (2010-13), and Myanmar (2013-16). His career highlights include re-opening the Indian Embassy in Kabul in November 2001 after the fall of the Taliban post 9/11, and deputations to the Festival of India, France (1985-6), the United Nations (2000), the National Defence College (2001), the Ministry of Defence (2002-5), and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (2009-10), besides routine assignments in the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassies abroad. Post retirement, Ambassador Mukhopadhaya has been associated with the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, a leading, multi-disciplinary think tank, speaking and writing on international relations, and briefly with the CII and NITI Ayog.

Fr. Jerry Thomas is the Director of Bosco Institute in Jorhat, Assam, deeply engaged in social work education and youth empowerment. He is known for his leadership in social work education and youth empowerment in Northeast India Fr. Jerry Thomas is often associated with initiatives that blend academic training with grassroots social engagement. Bosco Institute under his leadership has become a hub for: • Professional Social Work Training: Equipping students to address issues like poverty, conflict, and community development in Northeast India. • Youth Development: Creating platforms for young people to engage in social change. • Community Outreach: Strengthening ties between educational institutions and marginalized communities

Mr. Hejang Misao, a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate, is the Founder Director of InSIDE-North East. He is a recipient of the Sadguru National Award and the President of India Appreciation Award for his outstanding dedication to inclusive education and women’s empowerment. A fellow of Changeloomer, Youth Involve, and Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhini (MSDS), he brings rich experience from working with international and national development agencies such as IFAD/NERCORMP, DKA/kfb Austrian International, and Bridge of Hope. His vision and leadership continue to inspire transformative social change across the region.

Mr. Paominthang Luheng, a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate, is the Co-Founder of InSIDE North East. He received the National Best Community Development Coordinator Award from World Vision India for his remarkable contribution to community transformation through participatory collaboration. His work focuses on strengthening community systems, child protection, and sustainable rural development with a people-centered approach.

Manea Nelina, who holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Ambedkar University, Delhi, brings a strong cultural grounding combined with a dedicated professional drive to every responsibility she undertakes. With diverse experience across multiple sectors—including the corporate sector, real estate, senior citizen living, and social development—she has consistently contributed to holistic organizational growth. Her core expertise and passion lie in women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship support. She is deeply committed to creating inclusive platforms where women’s voices are heard, their contributions are recognized, and their potential is nurtured. Through her work, she strives to strengthen livelihoods, promote sustainable development, and enable women to emerge as confident and independent changemakers in their communities.

Yineikim Tuboi, a dedicated and committed social worker joined the organization on 5th June, 2021, gaining valuable experience in education and community development. Her expertise lies in education project management, with a focus on transforming the education system, a conflict area. Her efforts to shift the paradigm from rote learning to conceptual learning has seen a glimpse of change. With a strong academic foundation, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees, complementing her practical experience in education and community development.

Tonggoulen Misao, from Thangkanphai Village, Saikul, joined InSIDE North East in 2019, initially serving in a different capacity within the organization. Through years of dedication, hardwork and determination, he was entrusted with the role of Accountant in 2021, coinciding with the organization receipt of FCRA registration. In his capacity, he has been responsible for managing the financial operations and overseeing the implementation of various projects.

Junior Accountant

Nehminlal Haokip, a resident of K. Salemphai village, Lamka, joined InSIDE-North East as a Dream Catcher (Teacher) in July 2021. Through his dedication and commitment, he completed Tally training at Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati, and was appointed as Junior Accountant in December 2024. He now manages and handles finances for both FCRA and Non-FCRA funded projects of the organization.

Passionate and kind, Seiminlal Doungel is originally from Puleijang, a rural countryside village. He is a Graduate of Presidency College, Motbung. Though naturally introverted, he carries himself with confidence and maintains a strong sense of responsibility in both personal and professional settings. His calm and thoughtful nature allows him to connect meaningfully with others while staying focused on his goals. He also enjoys watching movies and playing football in his free time, which adds balance and relaxation to his life. Currently, he works as a Dream Catcher, where he supports and guides children in their holistic development while also maintaining strong connections with parents. He has valuable experience working as both a teacher and a warden, which has strengthened his ability to engage with children and contribute positively to the community.

Lunminlal Guite, a resident of Maphou Kuki village who was displaced to Songpehjang due to the conflict in Manipur, is currently employed with InSIDE-North East. He is a graduate of MB College, Imphal. By the grace of the Almighty, each step of his journey has been marked by growth and new insights. He is presently assigned as a Green Catcher under the sustainable livelihood initiative, contributing to the promotion of organic farming.

Helun Misao is the Co-founder of the organization, bringing with him extensive experience, dedication, and a long-standing commitment to its growth and mission. Over the years, he has held multiple roles, contributing significantly to the promotion and development of InSIDE–North East. After gaining experience with various organizations, he returned to pursue his passion and currently works as a Green Catcher in Churachandpur. He is deeply committed to ensuring sustainable livelihoods for internally displaced persons (IDPs) through the promotion of organic farming. He actively engages with NaRMaC members by promoting organic farming practices, raising awareness on key issues, and strengthening community participation in developmental initiatives aimed at improving livelihood opportunities. With a strong sense of responsibility and purpose, he continues to work tirelessly towards building a self-reliant community and advancing organic farming as a pathway to sustainable livelihood.

Thangminlal Misao from M. Kholmol Village has been associated with Inside North East since 2019. Prior to joining the organization, he completed a three-month training program in photography and videography at Green Hub, followed by a seven-month internship with various organizations as part of Green Hub Batch 2017–2018. He joined Inside North East as a Media Coordinator and served in this role until March 2023. With strong computer proficiency, he was subsequently appointed as a Computer Trainer in April 2023.

Tingrose Kilong is currently engaged with InSIDE North-East as a tailoring trainer. She completed her diploma in both basic and advanced tailoring from Moreh, Manipur. With her strong knowledge and skills in tailoring, she has empowered many young women and girls to become self-reliant and confident in their craft. She is a native of Satang village, Kangpokpi District, Manipur.

Lhingpineng Haokip hails from Wakan Village, Saikul. She completed her graduation from G.P. (Ghanapriya) Women’s College, Imphal, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree. She joined InSIDE-North East on 3rd October 2023 and is presently serving as a Dream Catcher under a PHF-funded project. In her role, she works closely with the Project Coordinator and collaborates with the administration of Pangjang Junior High School to effectively implement project activities in promoting quality education.

Henjangul has gained one year of experience in the field of social work. Mangkhosei Mate, born on 2nd March 1999, is a resident of Twisomjang Village in Kangpokpi District, Manipur. He is a graduate in Political Science, having completed his degree in 2020. With a strong commitment to education and community service, Mangkhosei previously served as the Education Secretary of the Kuki Students’ Organisation, Bungpi, from 2022 to 2025. In this role, he managed various education-related responsibilities and played a crucial part during the Manipur conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities. Notably, he helped run a school during 2024–2025 for students who were unable to attend regular classes due to the crisis, ensuring continuity in their education. He is now serving as Dream Catcher with an objective of working with dedication and utilizing his experience to contribute to the growth of both the organization and community
